Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering


The Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering is charged with ensuring the safety and welfare of the public, racing animals and licensees through regulation of the pari-mutuel industry. The division regulates harness, thoroughbred and greyhound racing, jai alai, and poker card rooms.

The Florida Lottery is regulated separately, as are bingo games which are the responsibility of the county where the games occur.

The Division of Consumer Services regulates raffles and sweepstakes competitions.

Florida does not regulate Indian gaming or "cruises to nowhere" which dock in Florida.
